Associate Pastor

 

    

      Norman Carter grew up in Blossom, Texas.  He is a graduate of East Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in 1960 and of Perkins School of Theology with a Master of Theology in 1964.  Reverend Carter was ordained Elder in June of that same year, and he and his wife and children moved to Hot Springs to his first appointment in Arkansas, which was the Gardner UMC.  He has served “First Church” of Blytheville, Booneville, Conway, Mt. Home, Searcy, and Lakewood of North Little Rock.  He has filled in at numerous churches on an interim basis and was the Superintendent of Arkadelphia District and Ft. Smith District before retiring in 1996.  Reverend Carter served on several Boards and Agencies in both the old North Arkansas and Little Rock Conferences. 

      Norman and his wife, Novella, married in 1950, and they have three children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
