Village United Methodist Church was organized on August 29, 1973
under the leadership of Rev. James F. Richardson. Charter
members met in a room at the Calella fire station and acquired the
name "The Firehouse Gang". Planning for construction of the
church began in 1975 and on February 11, 1976, 150 attended the
ground breaking ceremony. The first worship service in the new
facility was held February 6, 1977.
Celebrating our 30th Anniversary in 2003, Village United Methodist
Church had over 900 members and continues to expand in a growing
community.
Village United Methodist Church strives to meet the spiritual and
religious needs of people who live in and visit our community.
Through God's help and the teachings of Jesus, we aspire to achieve
these by nurturing and sharing our faith through our worship, works,
caring, educational and outreach programs.
The Vision of
the Village United Methodist Church is to be a church that assists
people to know Jesus Christ as Lord and to live in harmony with God
and one another.
